1. If I have a tree that looks like it is dying or in danger of falling and causing damages, who do I contact to have the Town of Cohasset remove it?

Contact Public Works and they will send out their Tree Warden, Andrew Swanson, to determine the ownership and condition of said tree. The Town has no responsibility, and does not treat trees that are on private property.

2. Is the street I live on, or planning to live on, a public or private way?

The Department of Public Works has a list of all streets in Cohasset that shows the status of each road regarding public and private ways. The Town Clerk also has this information at the Town Hall.

3. What is the cost of dumping various items?

4. What is the cost to buy a grave?

- Woodside Cemetery: $1,500 - $3,800
- Beechwood Cemetery: $725

5. When are brush collection days?

The department will advertise these dates in the Cohasset Mariner, and will also post them to the Town's website.

6. When is hazardous waste day?

Hazardous waste day has been for the last few years, a combined collection day with the Town of Hull. It is usually held during the month of June. Additional information regarding this subject and many other pertaining to recycling can be found on the South Shore Recycling Cooperative website.

7. Where can I purchase pay-per-throw bags?

Pay-per-throw bags can be purchased at the Transfer Station during operational hours, the Department of Public Works building, Shaw's Supermarket, Stop & Shop and Hingham Lumber.

The bags come in 2 sizes, 33 gallon package of 10 bags for $20, and 16 gallon package of 10 bags for $10.

8. Where can I purchase the "All Facility" Sticker?

All Facility Stickers can be purchased at the Clerk's Office on the first floor in the Town Hall during regular business hours. The Town sells the stickers for $65 (residents under 60 years of age) and $25 for residents over 65 years of age. Each vehicle must have its own sticker.
