Cohasset Harbor Climate Resilience Flyer

The Cohasset Harbor Committee is sponsoring a series of public meetings starting this January to engage community members to explore climate resilience related to Cohasset harbor. 

These public meetings are intended to build consensus among the various stakeholders, prioritize future actions, increase knowledge of relevant data and available resources to inform action plans for climate-related issues in our community, and to help prepare for the Cohasset Community Climate Summit targeted for late spring 2022.

The first public forum has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 25, 2021, from 7:00 - 8:30pm to explore the potential impacts of extreme weather events on Cohasset harbor. The first 45 minutes will feature presentations by three speakers followed by 45 minutes of Q&A with attendees. The meeting will be held virtually and can be joined at the following URL:

Guest speakers include:

Mark Borelli of the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies will present highlights of the 2020 CCS Cohasset-Scituate research study on Storm Tide Pathways.

● Cohasset’s Tom Bell will present highlights of the potential impact on Cohasset of a hurricane or large nor’easter.

Jack Buckley of Cohasset Center for Student Coastal Research will present on the most recent king tide and discuss vulnerabilities related to storm water runoff.
